Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
