Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative including angels, fiends, and dark forces expanding in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of characters who will branch out from the main group to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem unsuited, but the actions of the third episode show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to head next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then settled his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the region and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as important members in House Halovar could assist the group access places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in search of the traitor.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the Soldiers table will be absent the following episode, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Seekers and Strategists tables.
